The vehicle key does not require any changes or programming for this function.

In addition to these two main functions, SmartTOP modules also have individual additional functions: For example, the windows of the BMW 3 Series models can be opened and closed via the remote control. Position of the windows after the tops movement can be programmed to personal preferences. When engaging the reverse gear, the passenger mirror can be set to automatically be folded.

The module allows for complete deactivation as required. Starting and stopping the engine, does not interrupt the current top movement. Furthermore, a standard USB port is integrated in the module. This allows for the configuration on the home PC and the installation of software updates. These updates are made available to customers free of charge.

The SmartTOP convertible top control is retrofitted into the vehicle. For quick and easy installation, the cabriolet module comes with a specially developed plug-and-play cable set. The connection between the vehicles electronics and SmartTOP module is made by simply plugging together. Cable sets in original equipment quality guarantee a 100% accurate fit. The RemoteKEY comfort module for BMW models 1 and 3 Series will now be delivered in a new casing. The retrofit module from the company Mods4cars provides a higher operating comfort with smart functions. Among other features, windows and sunroof can be operated via the original remote control.

The company Mods4cars has completely reworked the casing of their soft top and comfort modules. The RemoteKEY comfort module for BMW 1 Series and 3 Series models has also received the new design. The RemoteKEY is a retrofit control which provides more comfort and numerous additional functions.

Among other things, the RemoteKEY makes it possible to open and close windows and the sunroof via the existing original remote control. If desired, the chirp function can be activated to sound a short horn signal when the central locking has been actuated. Motorized mirrors can be folded in and out via remote control.

When switching off the ignition, the doors are unlocked, eliminating the need to pull on the door handle twice. The module can be connected to the red LED in the rearview mirror and thereby simulate an alarm system. The comfort control can be completely deactivated as needed.

All functions are programmable according to personal wishes. For this purpose, an USB port is attached to the RemoteKEY. It’s possible to configure the module on the PC / Mac and to install software updates that Mods4cars provides, free of charge.

“The housing, which was developed exclusively for Mods4cars, also provides assistance in installing the retrofit comfort control,” explains PR spokesman Sven Tornow. Two LEDs attached to the module help with the installation. Thanks to the narrower shape of the RemoteKEY installation in the vehicle is made easier.

Video-in-motion unlocker SmartTV for BMW vehicles in a new design

Mods4cars has reworked the design of their Video-in-motion unlocker SmartTV for BMW vehicles. The SmartTV modules for BMW are now delivered in a new housing. After installation, the passenger is able to use and operate the TV and DVD system during the drive. As the SmartTV Box is firmly installed in the vehicle, the function remains permanently.

The company Mods4cars now offers its TV/DVD unblocker, SmartTV, for BMW in a new housing. The retrofitted TV module enables the activation of TV and DVD playback while driving. This allows the passenger to use the entertainment technology and play DVDs on longer journeys.

“With our Video-in-motion unlocker SmartTV for BMW vehicles, we offer a well thought-out and professional solution for TV unlocking,” explains PR spokesman, Sven Tornow. The SmartTV module is firmly installed in the vehicle, which is why the functions are maintained even after inspection by a workshop. A button combination on the steering wheel activates and deactivates the TV unblocker.

The manufacturer Mods4cars has now optimized the design of the SmartTV modules. The housing, designed exclusively for Mods4cars, is 30% narrower and can be installed more easily in the vehicle. Two LEDs provide an installation aid and indicate correct installation. Less plastic and the absence of screws make the new case more environmentally friendly.

A standard USB port is attached to the SmartTV module. This allows the installation of software updates, which Mods4cars provides free of charge. With this the Video-in-motion unlocker always remains up-to-date and does not have to be removed for an update. The SmartTV control can be deactivated as needed. Since no cables are cut through during installation, an untraceable removal is possible at any time.

The Video-in-motion unlocker SmartTV can be used for the BMW models 1, 3, 5, 6, 7 Series, X5 and Z4. In addition, the TV unblocker is also offered to car brands like Bentley, Mercedes-Benz, Skoda and Volkswagen. The SmartTV module is available from 169,00 Euro + tax.

Manufacturer Mods4cars has completely overhauled the design of their SmartTOP Convertible Top Controller for BMW 6 Series. Now the kits ship with the new product design. When the SmartTOP is installed, it is possible to open and close the top while driving at slow speeds and with one-touch operation. Effective immediately, Aftermarket Electronics Specialist Mods4cars ships the SmartTOP Convertible Top Controller for BMW 6 Series E64 and F12 with the new custom designed module enclosure. The Add-On kit enables owners amongst other things to open and close the convertible top from the original key fob remote. The original keys do not need to be modified or reprogrammed.

The SmartTOP Convertible Top Add-On kit offered by aftermarket automotive electronics specialist Mods4cars is now available for the just recently introduced BMW 4 Series Convertible. The product makes daily life with the convertible top a much more enjoyable experience. On one hand the top can be operated while driving at slow speeds and with one-touch convenience. It is no longer necessary to hold down the top switch. The SmartTOP customer gets to put both hands back on the steering wheel quickly.

On the other hand it is possible to control the top from the original key fob remote. “Our customers get the convenience to be able to operate the top fully automatically from a distance by just giving a command on the existing remote, even if they did not order the Comfort Access feature and also in countries where remote operation is not available at all.” explains PR-Manager Sven Tornow. This makes it possible to open the top while still approaching the car in order to air it out on hot days or to start the drive top-down. The top can also be closed from a distance, should dark clouds signal an imminent rainfall. No changes need to be made to the key fobs or the receiver system.

“We are delighted to be able to bring the SmartTOP for the new BMW 4 Series to market just weeks after the car itself became available. Mods4cars now ships the SmartTOP add-on kits for the Mini Convertible and the BMW 1 Series Convertible with the new Mods4cars module enclosure. This custom designed enclosure impresses with its slim, form fitting design and two LEDs for quick and simple installation. Thanks to the smaller size the module can easily be installed in even tighter locations in the car.

“We are happy to announce the switch to the new product enclosure on the SmartTOP modules designed for Mini and BMW 1 Series.” says PR-Manager Sven Tornow. “The sophistication of our products is now also apparent from the outside.” The smart add-on modules with their useful features make day-to-day use of the convertible top more convenient and more fun.

With a SmartTOP module installed, owners can open or close the convertible top at slow speeds of up to 40 km/h (~28 mph). A quick tap is enough to start full automatic operation. It is not necessary any longer to hold down the switch for the entire time. The driver’s hands are back on the wheel quickly.

“Especially Mini owners will appreciate the one-touch feature greatly, since they can now choose the desired outcome when pressing the button.” Sven Tornow continues. A single touch opens the sunroof. A double tap opens the sunroof and the convertible top. A triple tap opens the sunroof, convertible top and windows. “Owners can quickly select what they want and the whole operation is carried out fully automatically: Either just the sunroof or the whole convertible top, and whether the windows should be up or down after the top operation finishes.” Sven Tornow concludes.

Full automatic one-touch operation is also possible from a distance by using the original key fob remote. Not having to hold down any buttons means convenience and saving time. The SmartTOP customer may even get in the car and start driving while the top still operates. No changes are necessary to the key fobs or the receiver system.

A few examples are one-touch operation for the windows from the console switch, automatic mirror folding and unfolding on the BMW 1 Series and options to unlock the doors when turning the ignition off.
