Raising and lowering the top from the existing factory key fob remote is also possible with one-touch convenience: Up to the full RF range of the remote and without the need to hold down any button. The SmartTOP convertible top add-on module for Mercedes-Benz SL R231 Roadster will be available beginning January 2013. With this module installed, the convertible top can be opened and closed while driving at slow speeds by just tapping the switch once. Thanks to the remote one-touch function one key press on the original key fob is all that is required to activate the top operation; gone is the annoyance of having to continually depress the top control button. An easy installation is guaranteed because of the specially developed plug-and-play wiring adapter.
