Problem:

The module used to work fine and had to be removed, for example for a visit at the dealer and was later re-installed. Now the top only opens or only closes or other unexpected behavior is observed.

This can also happen right out of the box when installing the module for the first time.

 

A pin in the 16-way MOLEX connector got pushed back in the housing and is not making proper contact!

 

Solution:

Remove the pin as shown in the next two pictures, carefully bend the two small metal latches outward with a small screw driver or knife and fully insert the pin into the hole until it securely latches into place.
